A mother has given birth in America two months before her due date.
KAMI learned that Sierra Strangfeld was 20 weeks pregnant when she knew that her baby had trisomy 18 or Edward’s Syndrome
Trisomy 18 or Edward’s Syndrome is a chromosomal condition that causes birth defects. Babies diagnosed with the same illness usually do not survive long after birth.
According to Ladbible, Sierra gave birth and named their baby boy Samuel. Just three hours after, the baby passed away.
Even if she was struggling and coping with everything that happened, Sierra decided that she wanted to do something positive.
“Before Samuel passed, I told myself I would pump my milk to donate,” she wrote on her Facebook post.
“I couldn't save Samuel's life, but maybe I could save another baby's life. Pumping is not for the faint of heart. It's hard. Mentally and physically. And it's even harder when you don't actually have a baby,” she added.
Sierra shared that she pumped 63 days after she gave birth to Samuel. At the supposed due date of his baby boy, she donated her last milk.
“Walking through the hallways of the hospital was just another step in healing. And I know, (because I felt him), that Samuel was there with me,” Sierra wrote.
The netizens were happy to know the touching story of Sierra. Here are some of their comments on her Facebook post:
